The session will also witness an all women poetry recitation to mark the death centenary of famous Punjabi poetess Amrita Pritam. An inter-college cultural procession competition starting from the PAU’s rural museum will be the highlight of a colourful evening, followed by an elaborate stage set for folk orchestra, folk songs and folk dances at the open air theatre. Sardar Kahan Singh Pannu, secretary, agriculture and farmers welfare will be the chief guest, while Surjit Patar, chairman, Punjab Kala Parishad will preside over the event. Punjabi plays will be staged every evening from 5 pm onwards at the Pal Auditorium.
