A run to stop violence against women

LUDHIANA: The second edition of Ludhiana Half Marathon (LHM) with the theme ‘Stop Violence against Women’ will be held on Sunday in Kipps Market, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana at 5 am.The Expo for LHM was held at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar where marathon runners collected their running bibs. The event will witness participation from more than 1500 people. The running categories involve 2km, 5km, 10km and 25km. While addressing the media, Bhumiraj Singh, organiser of the marathon stated, “Punjabis are getting more and more into fitness and following this we are determined to organise more sports events in the state in near future.”

Avnesh Maney, junior Asian record holder from Delhi was present at the occasion. The event will be flagged off by Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Cabinet Minister, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and Dinesh Gupta.
