Triple murder case accused arrested from Mumbai remanded in custody thumbnail
COIMBATORE: The rural police on Wednesday produced gangster J Mohanram, who was nabbed by Mumbai police a few days ago, in the fast tract court II here in connection with three-year-old Sulur triple murder case. He has been remanded in judicial custody.

Mohanram was one of the two accused, who had gone underground after the incident on August 26, 2015. Police had arrested 19 of the 21 accused in the case.

Efforts of Dindigul police resulted in the arrest of the gangster, police sources said. “Police officers in Dindigul were on the lookout for Mohanram’s accomplice V Dinesh of Paraikulam in Dindigul for his involvement in the murder of three sanitary workers in Dindigul in 2017. The murder was carried out in retaliation for murdering his friend Somasundaram in 2016. Police had arrested everyone involved in the case other than Dinesh. By tracking Dinesh’s mobile phone, Dindigul police, along with Mumbai police, reached the place where Dinesh was staying. But they also found Mohanram there. After securing both of them, Coimbatore police was informed,” a police officer told TOI.

Mohanram has been remanded in judicial custody till October 17.
