The police revealed that the deceased – 13-year-old Dipanshu and 11-year-old Sumit – jumped into to pool for swimming. Dipanshu’s body that floated over the water was witnessed in the evening by the labourers working at the site who in turn informed the police after fishing it out. Later, the administrative officials and the railway officials reached the spot and ordered draining out of the water from the swimming pool.
As soon the water was drained out, the body of Sumit was also recovered from the pool at 1.30am on Tuesday. The police rushed both the bodies to the civil hospital where the post-mortem of was conducted after tracing out their family members, who demanded that a case of negligence should be registered against the DRM and other officials as they did not stop the children to enter into the pool.
“If the swimming pool was under construction, the water should have been drained out from day one. The water was stagnant here in which an 11-year-old minor jumped. My 13-year-old niece fell into the pool while making attempt to rescue his younger friend. Both had died because of stagnant water that the care-takers have failed to drain out from last four months.”
