LIC AAO Prelims 2020: Check exam pattern and salary


Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) conducts recruitment drive to fill up 168 vacancies to Assistant Engineers (A.E), Assistant Architect (A.A), Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) Specialist posts.

LIC has postponed the recruitment examination which was once scheduled to be carried out on April 4, 2020, indefinitely.

LIC AE, AA & AAO Salary

  • Basic pay of Rs 32795 per 30 days within the scale of Rs 32795- 1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as according to laws.
  • Total emoluments at the minimal of the scale inclusive of House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance etc wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city shall be roughly Rs 57,000 per 30 days in ‘A’ Class town.
  • Other benefits include Defined Contributory Pension, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance, Vehicle Loan (2-wheeler/4 wheeler) as according to laws, meal coupon, repayment of the price of Briefcase/leather-based luggage, cellular handset, a supply of dailies and magazines and tea/espresso, cellular expenses, etc.as according to laws.
  • Candidates selected for the publish of Assistant Administrative Officers (Chartered Accountant) with two years publish qualification work experience on the date of eligibility are eligible for two advance increments.

Preliminary Examination

Preliminary Examination consisting of purpose checks shall be carried out online. The preliminary exam shall be of 70 marks which could have 100 questions. The preliminary exam is split into 3 parts — Reasoning Ability, English Language with special emphasis on grammar, vocabulary & comprehension and Quantitative Aptitude.

Reasoning Ability

Number of Question: 35
Maximum Marks: 35
The medium of Exam: English & Hindi
Minimum Qualifying Marks for SC/ST/PwBD: 16
Minimum Qualifying Marks for Others: 18
Duration: 20 minutes

English Language with special emphasis on grammar, vocabulary and comprehension

Number of Question: 30
Maximum Marks: 30
The medium of Exam: English
Minimum Qualifying Marks for SC/ST/PwBD: nine
Minimum Qualifying Marks for Others: 10
Duration: 20 minutes

Candidates will have to be aware that the English Language take a look at shall be of qualifying nature and the marks in English Language may not be counted for rating.

Quantitative Aptitude

Number of Question: 35

Maximum Marks: 35

The medium of Exam: English & Hindi

Minimum Qualifying Marks for SC/ST/PwBD: nine

Minimum Qualifying Marks for Others: 10

Duration: 20 minutes
