Kohli can knock it off: Lee on Sachin's 100 tons record


MUMBAI: Former Australian rapid bowler Brett Lee on Saturday sponsored Indian captain Virat Kohli to surpass batting great Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 global centuries, provided he keeps firing for some other seven-eight years.

The iconic Tendulkar holds the record for perfect choice of ODI centuries with 49 masses and current batting maestro Kohli is second on the listing with 43 from 248 matches.

In Tests too, Tendulkar leads the tally for many choice of masses with 51 heaps. Kohli has 27 centuries from 86 matches till now.

Lee stated it will all boil down to 3 things -- talent, health and steel strength -- and Kohli has a lot of these traits.

"One thing that I would like to eliminate is his talent as a batsman. He certainly were given that, so we eliminate that. The second will probably be his health. Kohli has without a doubt had that, because for me it's all about health.

"Last would be the mental strength and the capability to get in the course of the hard games and being away from home," Lee stated.

Tendulkar retired in 2013 after a 24-year superb career that noticed him create a plethora of batting data in top-flight cricket.
