Indian-origin woman in UK beaten for trying to save Chinese from racist attack over coronavirus


LONDON: An Indian- origin girl trainee lawyer in the UK fell subconscious after being crushed by means of an unidentified guy when she tried to avoid wasting her Chinese buddy from a racist attack over coronavirus, media reports stated on Monday.
The incident came about when Meera Solanka (29) from England's Solihull town was once out together with her buddies, including her Chinese buddy Mandy Huang (28) from London, celebrating her 29th birthday in Midlands region.
Solanka was once knocked subconscious and hospitalised after she stepped in when Mandy was once informed: "Take your f****** coronavirus back home!", Birmingham Mail newspaper reported.

Mandy was once accused of wearing the virus outside Birmingham's Ana Rocha Bar and Gallery on Frederick Street within the early hours of February nine.

"I was having birthday beverages with a group of women and guys including Chinese buddies. There have been a group of Asian males inside the venue - one in every of them saved coming as much as me and harassing me. He looked as if it would have an issue with me being an Indian woman with a multi racial crew of buddies.

"For some reason why he got truly offended together with her (Mandy) and began abusing her calling her a filthy chink. He stated "take your f****** coronavirus and take it back home. I was shocked and angry so I shouted for him to stop and tried to push him away," Solanki was once quoted as announcing by means of the Sunday Mercury newspaper.

"He punched me in the head, I hit the pavement and was knocked unconcious," she stated.

Solanki was once rushed to health center the place she was once handled for concussion.

"I was so shocked and horrified by his aggressive behaviour and horrific words. As I lay unconscious he continued to threaten my friends and abuse them before walking away calmly with his group of friends who did nothing to stop him or help me," she stated.

A spokeswoman for Birmingham Chinese Society stated: "There has always been abuse. The virus has given some individuals a reason for that abuse."

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman stated: "We're investigating after a woman was once assaulted after another was once racially abused in Frederick Street, Hockley, around 2am on Sunday February nine.

"A person made racist marks to at least one girl and after he was once asked to forestall he punched another female, in her 20s, within the face. She was once briefly knocked subconscious but escaped with out severe injury".


The police stated that the attacker is described as an Asian, 5ft 8ins tall, of huge build and was once dressed in a flat cap and hoodie on the time.
