Cognizant to give two-thirds of employees 25% more in base pay for working in coronavirus pandemic

BENGALURU | MUMBAI: Cognizant will give an additional 25% in basic wages to about two-thirds of staff in India and the Philippines, as a ‘signal of gratitude’ for continuing to work all over the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Teaneck, New Jersey-headquartered company stated the payout will form a part of the salaries of all staff up to Associate level in April and can be reviewed every month.

“Despite this turbulence, which affects both you and your households, you've risen to the challenge of serving our purchasers with empathy, initiative, integrity, and braveness — all whilst supporting and uplifting one another. I am deeply grateful to all of you for your day by day acts of heroic leadership,” Cognizant CEO Brian Humphries stated in an email to staff.

Humphries stated that whilst the pandemic would most likely hose down industry demand, the requirements for fulfilment remained vital. “This can have a industry affect, however it was the suitable thing to do. We had done one thing equivalent for workers in Chennai all over the 2015 floods there as smartly,” a Cognizant govt stated.
