9 deaths on Mumbai roads, rlys since lockdown

A silver lining to the COVID outbreak has been a steep fall in fatalities on roads and railways. Eight fatalities-- six of them pedestrians-- were reported on town streets till April 15. On the railway community, the act of doing nothing has saved a median of seven lives per day. A lone commuter died of herbal causes at Thane railway station whilst trains were inoperational. With over 3000 annual fatalities on roads and railways collectively in 2019, gigantic efforts wish to be taken to "flatten the curve" and make the town more commutable within the post COVID-19 era, say experts.
