SCB medical college gets MCI nod to start DM (Hepatology) course


BHUBANESWAR: The Board of Governors of Medical Council of India (MCI) has given permission to the SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack to start out physician of medication (DM) (Hepatology) super-specialty route from this educational 12 months.

Rakesh Kumar Vats, secretary general of MCI, in a letter to dean and main of the SCB medical school informed the institute in regards to the MCI's permission for starting two seats in keeping with 12 months in DM (Hepatology) from the 12 months 2019-20.


He mentioned within the letter of permission that the institute is totally responsible to meet and take care of norms together with the infrastructure each physical and human resource, teaching college and clinical subject matter all over the instructional 12 months, as stipulated in legislation of MCI.


A senior officer of the health and family welfare division stated the route is a toddler step for the health center in opposition to starting liver transplantation process. Jayashree Mohanty, dean and main of the medical school, stated the institute had requested for permission to start out the route and the MCI authorized it. "We will reply to the council about our preparation and then the MCI will give its final approval to start admission," she added.


Hepatology is the study, prevention and analysis of liver, gallbladder, biliary tree and pancreas and control in their disorders. Students qualified in NEET Super-Specialty examination can get admission into this route.
