In Afghanistan, conspiracy theories fuel polio outbreak

In the previous decade, the numbers of folks inflamed with polio declined from a high of 80 in 2011 to 13 in 2016. But closing year there used to be a leap in new cases with 21 reported around the country. Polio immunisation is obligatory in Afghanistan, but distrust of vaccines is rife, and the programmes are tricky to enforce particularly in rural areas.
