ICC World Cup: Pakistan-Sri Lanka match delayed by rain


BRISTOL (United Kingdom): Rain not on time the start of the World Cup match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Bristol on Friday, with a bleak forecast including the potential of thundery downpours.

The game was once due to start at 10:30 am (0930 GMT) however large areas of the playing house had been coated underneath dark skies.


Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka bounced back after opening defeats.

Sri Lanka crashed to a 10-wicket defeat towards New Zealand ahead of pulling off a 34-run win towards Afghanistan in a rain-affected game.


All 10 teams play each and every other in a round-robin layout, with the top 4 qualifying for the semi-finals.
