Yum to open 600 Taco Bell units, hire 20,000

NEW DELHI: American fast meals corporate Yum Brands, which operates Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC, has committed to open 600 outlets of Taco Bell in India and employ round 20,000 people. This will make India the second biggest market for Taco Bell outside the US.

Taco Bell International’s president Liz Williams on Wednesday introduced that the corporate has signed a master franchise agreement with Burman Hospitality led via Gaurav Burman, a scion of the crowd, which runs consumer items corporate Dabur. Taco Bell, which serves Mexican inspired fare, reminiscent of burritos and tacos, will also open cloud kitchens within the home marketplace.

“We plan to open 600 restaurants in India over a length of 10 years. Currently, there are 7,000 Taco Bell restaurants in the US by myself. Rest of the 500 restaurants are positioned in different international locations,” said Williams.

The deal will make Burman Hospitality one of the Taco Bell franchisees globally via retailer count. Taco Bell entered India in 2010 and opened a few restaurants by itself. It signed on Burman Hospitality as a franchise spouse five years later, which ended in the opening of 35 restaurants around the nation.
