YMC ex-dy mayor Rampal is INLD man for Ambala

AMBALA/YAMUNANAGAR: The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Wednesday announced the title of a not unusual man for the Ambala (reserved) Lok Sabha seat.

Rampal Valmiki, who hails from Yamunanagar City, has served as deputy mayor all the way through the ultimate tenure of Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation (YMC).

After the announcement of Rampal’s candidature from Ambala seat, party employees and people began amassing at his space in Yamunanagar. Rampal - who works at Ballarpur Paper Mill industries - joined politics in 1986-87. He joined the Congress party, however in 1990 under the management of former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala joined the INLD.

In 1994, he was once elected councilor for the primary time in Yamunanagar Municipal Council. In 2000, his wife become a councilor. 2005 onwards, Rampal consecutively remained a councilor and in 2013 become the deputy mayor of Yamunanagar MC.

While speaking to media, Rampal stated, “In 2016, I used to be appointed president of the SC cellular in Yamunanagar district and since then I have been doing my duty with willpower. INLD is a celebration which uplifts the poor and provides them a spot to transport additional. I give credit for my nomination to Chaudhary Dilbagh Singh who has at all times stood through me and I am glad after my title gave the impression in the panel. I might be beginning my election campaign from Yamunanagar and according to the directions given through the party.”
