Wagon derails, hits Howrah-Mumbai traffic


Nagpur: Traffic on Mumbai-Howrah direction used to be thrown out of gear for over three hours on Saturday evening after an empty wagon of a freight teach derailed at Chacher railway station, 30km from here.

There has been history of derailments between Kalamna and Chacher segment. The remaining derailment close to the similar spot took place on March 7. The freight teach had started from Chacher yard when one of the vital heart wagons derailed at five.15pm on the primary line affecting passenger traffic against Howrah and Mumbai in a large method.


According to railway officials mail and express trains needed to be stopped at Chacher, Rewral, Tarsa, Kanhan, Khat, Kamptee, Nagpur and several different stations. The line coming against Nagpur (up line) used to be opened for traffic at 7pm.


Till the filing going to press, trains going toward Howrah (down line) persisted to be hit. The Kolhapur-Gondia Maharashtra Express used to be stopped at Itwari, Ahmedabad Express at Kamptee and Gitanjali Express at Nagpur.
