Socialists win snap polls in Spain marked by far-right gains

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's Socialists gained snap elections on Sunday without the important majority to govern solo in a fragmented political landscape marked by the far-right's access into parliament. Sanchez's Socialist Party (PSOE) were given 123 lawmakers out of 350, in need of an absolute majority but much better than the 85 seats it were given in 2016.
