Salesman drugs & films woman, held for extortion


PUNE: The Shivajinagar police on Monday arrested a Dighi-based salesman of a well-liked Ayurvedic merchandise’ logo for filming a married lady in an objectionable condition after offering her a soft drink laced with sedatives. The accused additionally demanded Rs10,000 from the woman.
Further, he threatened to add the pictures and video clips on various social networking sites if the woman didn't quit the money.

Inspector Bappu Shinde of Shivajinagar police station stated, “We have arrested the salesman, recognized as Santosh Sambhaji Kendre (33) of Dighi. He was once produced at a town courtroom and he was once remanded in police custody until Friday.”

A 37-year-old resident of Shivajinagar lodged a complaint with the police on Monday following which Kendre was once arrested. The complainant stated the incident came about between April 16 and 22.

Shinde stated Kendre is a salesperson dealing in merchandise of a well-liked Ayurveda pharma company. He sells oils for therapeutic massage and demonstrates the way to use the other oils.


The officer stated the woman was once his common customer and the 2 were acquainted. On April 16, Kendre presented her a product for head therapeutic massage and demanded a soft drink since it was once hot. The lady made two glasses of soppy drink. However, he allegedly blended a sedative in her glass. The lady drank the soft drink and changed into subconscious. He then used his cell phone digital camera to movie her in an objectionable condition. “We have seized his cell phone for further analysis,” Shinde stated.


Kendre then started demanding cash from the woman claiming he would add the pictures and video clips on various social networking sites to defame her if she didn’t pay up.


While first of all the woman decided to pay the money, she later approached the police, Shinde stated.
