Poll flying squad seizes Rs 5.32cr


Dharmapuri: An election flying squad has seized Rs 5.32 crore money, which was purportedly being taken to fill automatic teller machines (ATMs) of Axis Bank by workers of a personal company, at Sesampatty house right here on Friday evening.

Flying squad officers led by assistant engineer Mohana Priya seized the money as the employees of the private company failed to provide valid documents for the money they had been wearing.


The money was taken to the district collectorate and later deposited in district treasury for further inquiry.


Mohana Priya mentioned they have initiated inquiry with C Mathaiyan, who mentioned the money was being taken to fill Axis Bank ATMs. “We have asked him to carry valid papers for all of the money. We have additionally alerted income tax officers for further procedures.”
