Odisha govt seeks explanation from state-run technical institutes over under-representation in NIRF ranking


BHUBANESWAR: Fumed over under-representation of state universities and schools in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rating, Odisha executive sought clarification from all state-run technical institutes inside of a week. The institutes were requested to furnish a detail record on why it does now not in finding anywhere in the NIRF.

“The Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has lately printed NIRF ratings, 2019. It is observed that neither Biju Patnaik University Technology (BPUT) nor any of its constituent/affiliated executive engineering and professional schools in finding place in the NIRF rating,” the letter from the Skill Development and Technical Education (SDTE) Department to the institutes learn.

Explanation has been sought from technical institutes together with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) Sarang, College of Engineering and Technology (CET) Bhubaneswar, Parala Maharaja Engineering College (PMEC) Berhampur, Government College of Engineering (GEC) Kalahandi and Keonjhar, Institute of Management and Information Technology (IMIT) Cuttack and College of IT and Management Education(CIME), Bhubaneswar.


Five tutorial establishments of Odisha figured among most sensible 100 record of the NIRF rating together with National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela at 38th rank, Sikhya O Anusandhan (SOA) (Deemed to be University) at rank 41. IIT Bhubaneswar has secured 46th place, KIIT (Deemed to be) University ranked 50th. Among the engineering schools privately controlled C.V Raman Engineering College secured 94th place.
