MNC employee files blackmail case against colleague

JAIPUR: A lady operating in a multinational company (MNC) in Jaipur has registered a case towards her co-worker for allegedly blackmailing her.

According to the complainant, the co-worker threatened to upload her images on social media if she did not give him money.

Jawahar Circle SHO Devendra said, “Few years again, the complainant and the accused have been in a relationship all the way through which they clicked a few images. Now, the complainant is married to any individual and in keeping with her, the accused threatened that he'll make faux accounts in her identify on social media the place he'll upload the photographs. He also threatened to show them to her husband.” According to the complainant, she also gave the accused Rs five lakh previously following his alleged blackmail danger and when he requested for extra money, she registered a case towards him. “They each are of their mid-20s and feature identified each other for some years. We are investigating the matter to determine what transpired between the 2. We have registered a case of extortion as well as under IT Act for sending obscene images,” added the SHO.

The case has been registered under quite a lot of IPC sections as well as under Section 67 of the IT Act, 2000 which states that making, transmitting and distribution of cyber pornography is an offence.
