Leopard injures 9, killed by Muzaffarpur villagers


MUZAFFARPUR: A stray leopard used to be killed on Monday by irate villagers after it attacked and injured at least nine persons at Chichari village underneath Katra police station.


"On Monday morning villagers came out in large numbers after 15 people were attacked by the leopard. They gheraoed the animal, and hurled stones at it, before beating it to death," a local stated. On getting knowledge, wooded area department officers at the side of native police officers reached the village.


The injured had been rushed to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). Those with minor injuries had been released after first assist, whilst two of them are stated to be severely inured and combating for his or her lives.


Muzaffarpur DFO also stated that the leopard had injured nine persons. He stated the wild animal had almost definitely strayed into the village from Nepal facet, which is rarely 60km clear of the spot.


“The leopard’s body has been sent to the vetrinary clinic for postmortem. The leopard used to be about 4 years old,” stated the wooded area authentic.
