Left govt in Kerala indulging in religious persecution: Modi

Mangaluru: An afternoon after he addressed a rally in Kozhikode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday endured his tirade against the LDF govt in Kerala. The factor that Modi pitched was once what he said is the continuing religious persecution performed through the Communist-led govt within the neighbouring state, particularly on the Ayyappa factor which had left that state on the boil for a long time closing 12 months.

Averring that while one must go away politics, court and elections on one aspect, Modi said the situation in Kerala was once such that one cannot overtly profess one’s religion. “It is seen as mistaken to take action through the Communist govt there. You can’t utter Ayyappa’s identify, and when you accomplish that, the federal government there slaps a case and pushes you into jail,” he said, reminding them that the BJP Kozhikode candidate Prakash Babu was once jailed there.

In truth Prakash Babu joined the Prime Minister’s rally after securing bail from the Kerala High Court. He was once jailed on March 28 through a court in Ranni in Pathanamthitta in reference to the case, where he allegedly attacked a woman devotee in Sabarimala temple in November. Modi said this can be a dangerous development where folks run the risk of being persecuted in the event that they display their religion in temples and deities they consider in, and must be condemned.
