Karnataka men get lifer for killing brother


PONDA: The additional district and periods courtroom at Ponda on Thursday sentenced two brothers to life imprisonment for killing their sibling for denying them money in 2011 in Ponda.

Holding the duo, Hiru and Taru Chawhan, in charge beneath Section 302 learn with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code for killing their brother Thawru Valu Chawhan, 45, at his space at Ashewada, Bethora, the extra district pass judgement on at Ponda, Bela Naik, ordered each of the accused to pay Rs 2,000 to the courtroom which will likely be handed over to Sushila, the spouse of the deceased.


“In default, the duo has to go through two years rigorous imprisonment,” stated public prosecutor Satyawan Raut Desai who seemed for the state.


The accused duo had killed their brother on the night of November 18, 2011, through slitting his throat with a pointy knife after Thavru refused to offer them money.


After investigating the topic, then Ponda PI Prabodh Shirwaikar had filed a chargesheet on February 13, 2012. The courtroom tested 23 witnesses produced through the prosecution within the case. Arguments within the topic were finished on March 22.
