Gujarat ATS arrests two for smuggling heroin


AHMEDABAD: Drug mafia and parts hired by Pakistan-based terrorist organizations had been the use of a brand new sea route via Gujarat to smuggle heroin into European and other nations, revealed the 2 persons arrested by the Gujarat anti-terrorism squad (ATS) here on Saturday.

Addressing media persons here at the ATS place of work on Saturday, inspector B P Roziya of Gujarat ATS stated that police have arrested Mohammed Abdul Salaam, a resident of Mumbai, who is from Kasargod in Kerala, and Niyamat Khan Ahmedzai of Logar province in Afghanistan, who used to be in Delhi on a clinical visa for treatment of prostrate ailment.


“The smugglers needed to discover a new route on account of intense patrolling in high seas by mixed activity drive (CTF) formed by the US and Australian Navy. “Despite warnings, the team individuals of the dhow set it ablaze, however officers of Gujarat ATS and ICG controlled to salvage 100kg of heroin worth Rs 500 crore and arrested nine Iranians,” stated a most sensible Gujarat police official.
