Gang waylays minivan, escapes with Rs 6 lakh worth pan masala


Coimbatore: Police are searching for a six-member gang which threatened the driver of a minivan and escaped with pan masala price Rs 6.56 lakh being ferried through him at Perur early on Sunday.

Police stated A Dejashkumar, 22, of Range Gowder Street in Coimbatore, labored as a motive force in a non-public company. He used to be told to offer 7,564 packets of pan masala price Rs 6.56 lakh to Jebasingh.


Dejashkumar brought the panmasala Jebasingh, but used to be told to deliver the consignment at Postal Colony in Perur. Jebasingh despatched two of his males along to help Dejashkumar.


Police stated when the car used to be close to Postal Colony, a automotive and a motorcycle intercepted the minivan. “A six-member gang stepped out of the car and asked Dejashkumar to get throughout the automotive. Two individuals of the group drove the minivan to a place where the group individuals unloaded the pan masala. They then drove to an remoted spot, and let off the driver and the 2 helpers after a while, with the minivan,” a police officer stated.


Dejashkumar lodged a grievance with Perur police who registered a case.
