Flat buyers duped of Rs 11 lakh, 6 booked

GURUGRAM: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Monday booked six individuals for allegedly duping two flat consumers of Rs 11 lakh.
In the primary week of January, two brothers, Sandeep and Ashok Sharma, had been contacted by an individual who claimed to have called from the administrative center of one A-Plus realtor in Sector 49, according to the grievance. The caller allegedly introduced flats to them in Andour Heights in Sector 71, below “control quota”. After the decision, the brothers went to the discussed administrative center on January 7.

“Inside the administrative center, we met one Abhishek and one Anil Kothari who said they had been companions of A-Plus realtor. They claimed to be the accredited brokers for sale of flats in Andour heights and introduced them to us below control quota,” the victim instructed police.

He added, “We gave them Rs 11 lakh by the use of two cheques price Rs five.five lakh every for the booking. They additionally gave us two post-dated cheques of the similar value and said that if the booking does not get showed till February 25, lets encash them.”

Interestingly, when Sandeep and Ashok did not get the flats after the cut-off date, the accused gave them a cheque of Rs 20,000 as pastime on the money.

“However, when we deposited the cheques, they bounced. We tried to contact them, but may just not. We additionally visited the administrative center, nevertheless it was locked,” the complainant instructed police.

After a preliminary investigation, an FIR was registered towards Abhishek, Anil Kothari and four others below IPC sections 406 (criminal breach of consider), 420 (cheating) and 34 (commonplace goal) of IPC at Sector 50 police station on Sunday.
