FIR against rly staff for pushing woman to suicide


LUCKNOW: Seven railway employees had been charged with abetment of suicide on Tuesday after the brother of the woman, who allegedly committed suicide by way of jumping off a four-storey development on Sunday, filed a complaint in opposition to them.

The girl, a railway employee, had claimed in her suicide note that she was once being sexually stressed by way of her seniors and co-workers. The note has been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for ascertaining its authenticity.


Circle officer (Alambagh) Sanjeev Sinha stated, “An FIR has been registered in opposition to seven railway officers at the fees of abetment of suicide at the complaint of victim’s brother.”

“The complainant has stated that his sister (victim) was once being stressed by way of her colleagues and had narrated her ordeal to him over the telephone,” the police officer added.

“The autopsy document says that the woman died because of head accidents. She had more than one fractures in her limbs and cranium. These had been caused because of fall from the fourth flooring of the development. Since an FIR has been registered, we will tell the dep. whose officials had been booked after which their statements can be recorded,” the CO added.

The victim’s brother advised NewsTread that his sister was once going through harassment at her place of work since October 2018 and no authentic initiated motion despite a number of complaints to them.

“I in my opinion went and met senior deputy business manager (DCM) who assured us her transfer. But nothing took place, as an alternative the behaviour of her colleagues grew to become more harsh in opposition to her,” he added.


When NewsTread contacted divisional railway manager (DRM) Satish Kumar, he stated that the case has been taken over by way of police and investigation has been taken over.


“I have now not come across any complaint of harassment submitted by way of the woman staffer. We practice all norms of sexual harassment committee on the place of work,” he added.


Brother had pacified distraught girl

The girl had made remaining call to her brother around nine.30pm on April 13. Her brother stated that she advised him over phone that she was once unwell and bored with the harassment since no motion was once taken despite a number of complaints to seniors. She also stated that she doesn’t wish to live any longer. “I advised her to be affected person as no problem lasts ceaselessly. She appeared pacified but I don’t what took place later that she took the intense step,” he advised TOI.
