Ex-corporator among 11 booked for land fraud

PUNE: The Talegaon Dabhade police booked 12 people, together with a former Pimpri Chinchwad corporator, for promoting the similar parcels of land in Gahunje village to other people.

According to the police, the suspects took good thing about the time taken through the state earnings authorities in updating the land data to many times promote every piece of land to multiple people.

A land developer, Atish Mohan Bhalsingh (30) of Gahunje, turned into acutely aware of the fraud and moved court, which earlier this month directed police to check in a case.

Following this, the police booked a former corporator of PCMC and 11 others, all residents of Vadgaon Maval and Pimpri Chinchwad, for dishonest and forgery.

According to the FIR, the 13-acre plot in Gahunje village had clear paperwork until 1996. In December that 12 months, a few persons got energy of lawyer (POA) and acquired the land. However, the POA was now not registered and the local earnings officers had been in the dark.

In the early 2000s, the similar people used the POA to flat a bungalow scheme at the land. One of the plots was purchased through the complainant, police stated.

In 2003, the POA holder died and soon, the suspects came in combination and offered the similar piece of land to many people the use of old land paperwork.
