DU link in Lucknow marksheet racket

LUCKNOW: The marksheet racket busted at Lucknow University has a Delhi connection.

The six persons arrested, including a former LU clerk and a now-suspended worker, have named a Delhi University’s former worker as their associate.

During a crackdown earlier this week, Lucknow police recovered 12 fake marksheets purportedly issued by means of DU and two tabulation charts, which raise confidential details of scholars and are key to preparing marksheets. Police had sent photocopies of those two tabulation charts to the DU registrar’s workplace for verification.

“University officers showed over phone that the charts had been fake,” said ASP (Trans-Gomti) Amit Kumar, adding that DU have been requested to make sure the former worker named in the case.

On April 18, LU worker Nayab Hussain and 5 others, including gang kingpin and previous LU worker Khirodhan Prasad, had been nabbed after a early life lodged a criticism at Mahanagar police station, announcing he have been conned out of Rs 1.five lakh with the promise of an LLB marksheet.

Marksheets of classes X and XII of various training boards had been additionally seized.

Lucknow University suspended four of its workers, including Nayab, on Thursday. Two of them are at the run. Besides the DU worker, a member of personnel of the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur, is also below the scanner on this case.
