Delhi energy firm staffer arrested for PF fraud


NEW DELHI: The CEO of a south Delhi-based energy firm used to be surprised once you have a show-cause understand from the provident fund department for not depositing its contribution within the employees’ PF accounts. The police have now arrested some of the managers of the firm for allegedly swindling price range.
The accused, Goutam Bharthry (25), a resident of Vasant Kunj worked as an assistant manager within the company’s accounts department. He is being interrogated to determine the whereabouts of around Rs 40 lakh, which he allegedly diverted to his personal accounts.

The incident used to be reported within the remaining week of March after the firm at B block of Safdarjung Enclave, approached the police and lodged an FIR. In the criticism, the CEO stated that Bharthry used to be answerable for managing the company’s accounts and used to be additionally the in charge of filing the important per thirty days studies with more than a few govt departments, including the provident price range and the ESIC.


“The company bills would go to first be transferred to Bharthry’s personal account, and then he would switch it to the EPF account. Recently, the company observed that the PF bills were not reflecting within the company’s accounts and the price range were not being transferred to the workers’ accounts either,” the CEO stated.


The company then wrote to the PF department pointing out that the price range were not properly reflecting. In return, they received a display cause understand from the dep. about not filing the PFs. The company used to be asked to supply the bank statements from where the deposits have been made. During this meeting, Bharthry used to be evasive and may just not provide satisfactory responses and went missing following the meeting with the firm officials and stopped taking their calls as neatly.


The firm then contacted the police and filed a criticism at Safdarjung Enclave police station on March 27. The cops tracked Bharthry’s whereabouts for a week before tracing him on Thursday night at Vasant Kunj. DCP (south-west) Devender Arya confirmed the arrest.
