Chandigarh: Hotelier to be booked in POCSO case

AMBALA: The hotelier, who had allowed the stay of a minor girl with an grownup accused (21) who later raped her in a resort room at Ambala Sadar area, can be booked below Section 21 (punishment for failure to report or record a case) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, for permitting the minor girl’s stay with an grownup with out maintaining any information on March 13.
As in step with data, a minor girl resident of Ambala was allegedly abducted and raped in a resort room in Ambala Sadar area on March 13. The 21-year-old accused borrowed a motorcycle from his good friend and went to satisfy the survivor girl who had left her house for tuition within the night time at around 7.30pm on March 13. The accused confirmed some obscene photos of the lady and threatened to add them on social sites and share the similar with her parents, and forcibly took her to a resort in Ambala Sadar area where he raped her in a single day and on March 14 he dropped her close to Ambala district courts.

The girl was rescued by way of a passerby who took her to Ambala Sadar police station from where the Durga Shakti crew of the police took her to ladies police station where she dictated the ordeal.

Following the incident, on March 14, on the grievance of girl’s parents, a case in opposition to the accused was registered below Section 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully confine individual) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and four (punishment for penetrative sexual assault) of the POCSO Act at Ambala Women police station.

The main accused was arrested after some days of the registration of the case, whilst on Monday, two more accused had been arrested after they've been booked on this case below Section 16 (abetment of an offence) of the POCSO Act and 120-B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. Inspector Sunita advised that these two accused had assisted the primary accused in providing a resort room on March 13, where the crime was dedicated.

Ambala Woman SHO Sunita stated, “The involved resort has did not maintain the standards as in step with regulations and the resort has allowed the stay of a minor girl with an grownup accused. The hotelier can be booked below Section 21 of the POCSO Act for failure to report or record a case and the accused hotelier would even be taken into custody very quickly.”
