Centre extends ceasefire pact with 2 Naga rebel outfits


NEW DELHI: The Centre on Monday prolonged the ceasefire agreement with two rebel groups in Nagaland via three hundred and sixty five days whilst a contemporary pact for suspension of operations was once signed with another. A ceasefire is in operation between the Union executive and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Neopao Konyak/ Kitovi) and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland/ Reformation (NSCN/R).


It was once determined to increase the agreement with NSCN/NK and NSCN/R till April 27, 2020, an MHA statement mentioned. The agreement was once signed on behalf of the central executive via joint secretary (northeast) in the home ministry Satyendra Garg; Jack Jimomi, supervisor, GPRN/NSCN, on behalf of NSCN/NK; and Amento Chishi, supervisor, and Toshi Longkumer, secretary, on behalf of NSCN/R. The National Socialist Council of Nagaland/Okay-Khango entered right into a contemporary ceasefire agreement with Union executive from Monday for a duration of 1 year, statement mentioned.
