Candidates make a splash with flash mobs in Hyd

HYDERABAD: At the bustling Kothapet market, not much makes people forestall of their tracks, however Friday was different. Around 10.30am, crowd parted as a bunch of 15 to 20 people broke out into a dance in the midst of the market. The flash mob, organised via workforce of Malkajgiri Congress candidate Revanth Reddy, shocked everyone.

Performing to the lyrics “ vasthunnadu vasthunnadu, Revanthanna vasthunnadu (arriving arriving, Revanth is arriving)”, the dancers were cheered on via a crowd of fruit dealers and consumers.

Politicians in the state are taking less-trodden paths to snatch electorate’ consideration. The flash mob at fruit market and any other one organised via the similar workforce on a Metro— from Kothapet to Dilsukhnagar and then to LB Nagar— is an indication that politicians are converting with time.

Speaking about the initiative, Nymisha Reddy, Revanth’s daughter stated, “entertainment is crucial a part of people’s lives. If my father holds a meet and tries to give an explanation for one thing, it's not all the time simple to get the message throughout. A flash mob is without doubt one of the best possible techniques to snatch people’s consideration in a short time frame. It draws people and assists in keeping them talking about us.” Asked about how the workforce decides where they're to perform, she stated, “we are targeting crowded puts in the constituency.”

Reports urged that there have been flash mobs organised via BJP supporters as well, but the birthday celebration’s spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao denied any professional involvement in this. BJP leaders, however, have tried different novel means of grabbing electorate’ consideration. Fighting from Malkajgiri, BJP candidate Ramachander Rao organised a motorcycle rally from Bouduppal Mallamma temple to Jawaharnagar, through Pirzadiguda, Anojiguda, Ghatkesar, Keesara, Nagaram and Dammaiguda on Thursday. The rally attracted many.

“The intention behind the rally was to connect to a bigger number of people which doesn't all the time occur in a door-to-door marketing campaign,” stated Ramachander Rao when contacted. The BJP candidate went on to mention, “people’s perspective about you adjustments after they see you doing one thing different. They see you as being proactive.”
