B'luru: Unaccounted Rs 45L cash seized from man


BENGALURU: Unaccounted cash of Rs 45 lakh from a person in Mahalakshmi Layout, off West of Chord Road on Tuesday morning.
According to police, an unidentifed particular person tipped off Mahalakshmi Layout police round 10.45am about an individual carrying an enormous sum of cash. Accordingly, police officers alerted the flying squad and detained the person at JD Naidu Hall Road. The guy was known as Rahul Kumar, 30, a resident of JC Road.

“The suspect was driving a gearless scooter once we stopped him. On checking, we recovered Rs 45 lakh cash from a bag saved inside the glove compartment. The guy, who was carrying it, didn't have related documents and we seized the money,” police mentioned.

“The cash was handed over to the income-tax division for further motion,” they added.

Matrimonial fraud: Man cheats widow of Rs 80L

A 36-year-old widow has filed a legal case against a person, announcing he cheated her of Rs 80 lakh on the pretext of marrying her.


She also claimed he threatened her with dire consequences when she demanded the cash back.


The lady, a resident of SR Nagar, near Corporation Circle, mentioned she misplaced her husband in 2011. “Accused Okay Venkatesh, a resident of Jayanagar 9th Block and businessman, befriended me the similar 12 months with a promise to marry me. Saying he needed some money to put money into different business ventures, he took about Rs 80 lakh cash from me between 2012 and 2018,” mentioned the victim.


According to lady, Venkatesh started warding off her from mid-2018. “Realising he was now not going to marry me, I asked him to return my money. In reply, he threatened me with dire consequences,” she mentioned.
