BJP Shamli MLA, Congress leader booked for poll code violation

MUZAFFARNAGAR: BJP MLA Tejendra Nirwal and Congress leader Imran Masood had been booked here for ballot code violation, officers stated on Wednesday.

A case was registered in opposition to BJP's Shamli MLA Tejendra Nirwal for making objectionable remarks right through a rally of Uttar Pradesh deputy leader minister Keshav Prasad Maurya at Jhinjhana the city on Tuesday, circle officer Rajiv Kumar Tiwari stated.

The case was registered on a grievance by sector magistrate Amit Kumar, he stated.

In every other incident, ex-Congress MLA Imran Masood was booked for ballot code violation on a grievance by sector magistrate Dharmender, the officer stated.

Masood may be accused of creating objectionable statements in opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi right through an election assembly of the Congress, Tiwari added.
