Bike taxi scam: Investors flock to police station


GREATER NOIDA: As many as 100 traders of bike taxi company Bike Bot filed police complaints towards proprietor Sanjay Bhati, a BSP functionary from Greater Noida, and 5 directors on Friday for allegedly duping them after providing lucrative returns on investment.


Bhati, from Dadri, was once a BSP candidate within the 2014 polls. The 5 accused directors are, Rajesh Bharadwaj, Sunil Kumar Prajapati, Deepti Behl, Sachin Bhati, and Karan Pal Singh.


The complainants who claimed they had been from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi and Chhattisgarh alleged they have got been duped of amounts ranging from Rs 62,000 to Rs 32 lakh. They said the accused started the corporate in August 2017. It was once in keeping with a multilevel marketing fashion and added 2.4 lakh traders.


Ravindra Kumar, a doctor from Jaipur, said pamphlets had been circulated announcing a motorcycle taxi company was once being launched and the administrators had been in search of investments from the general public, as they wanted to percentage advantages. “I joined in August 2018 and invested round Rs 12 lakh. But all at once, in November 2018, officers said they had been converting the rate of interest and requested the traders to position in extra money to avail the old charges. By then I had invested Rs 22 lakh more. But I most effective were given Rs 10 lakh in return. Since November 2018, no longer a unmarried rupee has been credited to my account,” he said. Investors alleged that the scheme was once scraped in November 2018.


Vineet Jaiswal, SP (rural) Greater Noida, said: “We were getting complaints in keeping with which four instances of dishonest and forgery were filed towards the owner and 5 directors. Friday was once the first time that people got here in a gaggle. The criticism will probably be converted into FIR. The accused are at the run.”
