Be prepared for a hot, hot voting day

Places like Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Deesa, Vadodara and Bhuj recorded maximum temperature at 40°C. Manorama Mohanty at IMD said, “It is really useful that individuals go and vote in the morning. For the next 5 days, the temperature across the State will stay round 41-42°C.”

Dr Bharat Shah, a consulting doctor with a government medical institution, said, “Everybody must vote but they must additionally take precautions towards the heat. People will have to preferably wear cotton clothes, quilt their heads with hat or umbrella, and drink liquids at common durations.


Ideally, voters will have to go to cubicles between 7 am and nine am or in the night between 4 pm and six pm.”
