Bains writes to EC, seeks DC’s transfer


Ludhiana: Lok Insaf Party leader Simarjit Bains, who's contesting from Ludhiana constituency as a part of Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA), has sought switch of the Ludhiana deputy commissioner, accusing him of pressurising the mining, earnings and police departments to paintings in favour of the Congress.
In a letter to the executive electoral officer, Bains has alleged that the official has been sending lakhs of rupees to Congress leaders via “illegal” mining to satisfy the expenses within the elections.

Bains has alleged that illegal sand mining used to be being carried out brazenly in Gorsiya Khan Muhammad village close to Sidhwan Bet under the jurisdiction of Jagraon police space, and sand price lakhs of rupees used to be being bought day-to-day illegally.


The LIP leader claimed that the villagers had introduced the matter to the attention of DC and the mining department, however not anything used to be achieved and as a substitute the problem used to be coated up. He alleged that he had given a complaint to the DC, who had despatched officers to the spot, however they failed to demarcate the realm.


Bains also claimed that the cash used to be to be spent within the elections to bribe the voters.


Deputy commissioner Pardeep Aggarwal, however, refuted the allegations, terming them baseless.
