Akhilesh Yadav brings old foes on one platform

LUCKNOW: For those who have been witness to UP’s political journey and the major trends of the hot previous, the approaching together of two arch rivals—BSP leader Mayawati and SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav—at the similar dais after 25 years of enmity is at least a political thriller.

And, this new political thriller which could have its reverberations across the state and out of doors, has been scripted through Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, who extended a hand of friendship to Mayawati, culminating into an alliance of the two regional parties towards BJP.

In doing so, Akhilesh has completed what even his father Mulayam Singh Yadav, known for his political astuteness, his uncle Shivpal Yadav, no less a political veteran, can have performed.

Unlike BSP, which has no presence within the Lok Sabha, SP has 5, and nearly thrice the number of MLAs as in comparison to the BSP within the state Assembly.

Yet, he went forward along with his plan to forge a tie-up or even made a lot of concessions to house BSP.

Akhilesh first satisfied Mayawati in his repeated conferences and through telephonic conversations to best friend with the SP and to house RLD to consolidate its place in western UP. It even gave up a few seats from its quota of 38 seats within the alliance to house RLD.

Those witness to the bloody contention between the SP and BSP within the remaining 25 years—with the best way they unleashed political vendetta towards each and every every time in power—now in finding it implausible to look Mulayam and Mayawati sharing the dais in Mainpuri or even reward each and every different.
