5 ATMs dispensed fake notes worth Rs 4.26 lakh


LUCKNOW: Fake foreign money notes worth Rs 4.26 lakh have been recovered from five ATMs of a private bank in numerous portions of the town. The restoration happened all over a recent audit performed by means of a company on the bank’s directive.


The bank had received proceedings from its customers that a few of its ATMs had been dishing out fake foreign money notes of Rs 2,000 denomination.

An FIR has been lodged by means of CMS Infosystem Limited, the corporate which performed the audit, with Vibhuti Khand police station in opposition to unidentified individuals on the fees of possessing and trafficking counterfeit foreign money.

According to the police, the corporate has tie-up with many banks to refurbish ATMs.

After the bank received proceedings of ATMs dishing out fake foreign money, it asked the corporate to habits an audit.

The company examined the entire ATMs of the bank within the city for 20 days and all over the length recovered 213 fake notes of Rs 2,000 denomination from five ATMs in Jankipuram, Sarojininagar, Kalyanpur and Daliganj.


All the notes had same serial numbers.


ASP north Sukirti Madhav stated police teams are scanning the CCTV footages of those ATMs to spot the culprits.


Anil Kumar Singh, branch manager of CMS Infosystem Limited, advised NewsTread that their inquiry is over and they have provided all details and paperwork to the police for probe. “Whoever is guilty should be punished. We will prolong all lend a hand to the police and be expecting the topic to be resolved quickly,” he added.
