'Vacant posts of doctors and nurses in Tamil Nadu hospitals to be filled soon'

COIMBATORE: Additional secretary to the dept of well being and family welfare, S Nagarajan, on Saturday visited the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) campus to check out the spot where the new modular operation theatre funded via the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is to return up. Later, chatting with reporters, he stated, the vacant posts of doctors and nurses in state government hospitals will soon be filled.

The modular operation theatre can be constructed at a value of Rs 98 crore and it could be supplied with hi-tech apparatus at a value of Rs 189 crore. The auditorium on the CMCH campus can be demolished to construct a six-floor operation theatre development. The auditorium can be housed on the sixth floor of the new development. Nagarajan also inspected the blood financial institution, maternity ward, ophthalmology ward and the most cancers centre among other wards at CMCH.

Later, chatting with reporters, Nagarajan stated the paintings to construct the new operation theatre would begin in March 2020 and it could be finished via 2024. He added that 1,884 doctors were recruited during the medical recruitment board and they might soon be given appointment orders and be posted in government hospitals. He stated 500 MBBS graduates had been lately practising as space surgeons in state medical schools and they might even be recruited after their path is completed. “We would also soon fill the 2,345 posts of nurses which can be vacant in government hospitals,” Nagarajan stated.
