Two lakh more voters to be added to list before polls

JAIPUR: More than two lakh new citizens would be added to citizens' listing ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the state, with 2.10 lakh new candidates registering themselves all the way through the two-day particular campaign in Rajasthan.

Interestingly, the election division's updated listing up to March 8 shows that Jaisalmer, Sawai Madhopur and Sirohi districts didn't receive a unmarried form (Form 6) for addition to the citizens' listing. The listing might be additional updated later. The two-day particular campaign was once organised by means of the department on March 2 and three at the polling stations in the district.

It is believed that the dates for the impending basic elections would be introduced on March 10 or early next next week. According to an election division document, 2,10,131 Form 6, intended for brand spanking new registration or addition to the citizens' listing, had been won from around the state.

During the two-day campaign, 49,628 programs had been won for deletion of names (Form 7) and 56,105 forms had been submitted for correction at the electoral roll.

According to the information, Jaipur won easiest collection of Forms 6 (for addition to citizens' listing) with 37,622, adopted by means of Jodhpur with 19,996 forms and Udaipur with 10,509 forms.

Among others, Bikaner won just 40 forms, Pratapgarh won 718 new forms for addition to citizens’ listing, Ajmer won 8222 forms, Alwar won 2076 forms, Banswara 5622, Baran 2762, Barmer 6627, Bharatpur 6334, Bhilwara 6976, Bundi 3065, Chittorgarh 5092, Churu 5661, Kota 9657, Pali 9878 and Tonk four,573.

Among different districts, 5174 forms had been won in Dausa for addition, 3051 in Dholpur, 6101 in Dungarpur, 7199 in Ganganagar, 2272 in Hanumangarh, 6768 in Jalore, 3198 in Jhalawar, 8972 in Jhunjhunu, 4371 in Karauli, 6961 in Nagaur, 3123 in Rajsamand and 7511 in Sikar.

The eligible citizens in the state can enrol themselves till 10 days prior to the date of submitting of nomination papers.
