Two held for obscene posts on Nusrat Jahan


KOLKATA: Two youths, including a BJP IT mobile convener, have been arrested on Saturday for allegedly posting derogatory remarks and pictures of Trinamool Congress’s Basirhat candidate Nusrat Jahan.


According to local sources, 30-year-old Suvendu Chakraborty, a resident of Baduria’s Laxminathpur, is BJP’s district (North 24 Parganas) IT mobile convener. “An area Trinamool activist noticed the post and lodged a criticism with Baduria police station,” a police officer stated. Following the criticism, police picked up Chakraborty from his space and later produced him in a Basirhat court. “Two SIM playing cards and a memory card of the accused had been seized,” stated an investigator.


Police have also arrested a early life, known as Tanmay Bala from Gaighata’s Chandpara in North 24 Parganas, for allegedly making objectionable remarks on a social networking site in opposition to the actor-turned-politician.


BJP’s senior district leader and state committee member Shankar Chatterjee, alternatively, claimed BJP activists have been being falsely implicated. He also accused the police of favouritism. “The Trinamool Congress is desperately looking to malign the picture of BJP Union ministers however police in Bengal don’t take any motion.”


District Trinamool observer and assembly chief whip Nirmal Ghosh, alternatively, stated: “BJP is indulging in dirty politics even after the model code of conduct has come into effect. They are not only violating modesty of girls applicants, they are also looking to create a ruckus around the state prior to the polls.”
