Two fall to death at construction site in Pune

PUNE: A employee and the brother of a web page contractor died after falling from an under-renovation development of a Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) school at Dhankawadi.

Bharati Vidyapeeth police registered an offence towards two contractors of the web page for neglecting protection of the workers and different visitors.

The deceased were known as Manoj Vasantrao Wadaje (23) and Vijay Bhavsar (25), each citizens of Narhe. Wadaje is brother of the web page contractor.

According to the police, the 2 contractors secured contract from the PMC to renovate the college development located at Dhankawadi about two months in the past. Many employees have been executing the renovation paintings.

Bhavsar was tying bamboos to for the paintings of school’s dome house. Around 12.30pm on March 9, Bhavsar misplaced his balance and fell from the construction. Wadaje, who was present on the web page, rushed to the world to catch Bhavsar. However, Bhavsar collided towards Wadaje with great power and Wadaje fell down, police mentioned.

Wadaje died on the spot while Bhavsar died at a personal sanatorium, mentioned senior inspector Vishnu Pawar.

After going throughout the contract agreement details and web page seek advice from, it was revealed that the contractors had not taken sufficient protection measures, Pawar mentioned.
