Teased by classmates, 2 youngsters end life

MADURAI: Two male scholars of a personal arts school in Madurai town died after consuming poison allegedly on being teased by means of their classmates. While one in every of them died an afternoon later on March 2 in clinic, the other youth kicked the bucket on Friday night time after battling for existence at the Government Rajaji Hospital for 13 days. The youths have been part of a suicide pact involving one more youth who on the other hand didn't hotel to the intense step.

Police said the deceased youths, both 18 years old, hailed from Ahimsapuram and Bibikulam whilst the third was from Aruldosspuram. They have been first year BA Economics scholars at the Thiagarajar arts school at Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam. The youths have been very close and used to transport in combination at the school premises. Distraught at being made “amusing of” by means of classmates, the 3 of them pledged to take poison at the similar time. On March 1, they bought fruit juice, combined poison in it and left with a proportion each. Police said whilst two of the youths consumed it at the ‘pre-scheduled’ time, the third youth evolved chilly toes.

One youth was found subconscious frothing at the mouth on March 2 in his space at Bibikulam. His oldsters straight away shifted him to a clinic, but medical doctors declared him brought lifeless. The youth from Ahimsapuram was rushed to clinic the similar night time. “He came home round 10 pm at the night time of March 1 and went to his room straightaway. Later, his mother heard vomiting sound and went to check on him. She found that he had consumed poison and rushed him to Government Rajaji Hospital,” a relative said. The relatives of the youth have been inconsolable in entrance of the GRH on Friday when the news of his dying came.

Tallakulam police had recorded a grievance from the boy’s mother in the community service registry (CSR) on March 4. In her grievance, the woman said that the trio was compelled to take the intense step because of common teasing by means of their classmates led by means of a boy from Thiruppuvanam.

On allegations of ragging being the cause of the incident, deputy commissioner of police, Madurai town, (law and order) V Sasi Mohan said it was too early to mention whether or not ragging was involved. “We have to look whether or not the interior ragging committee within the school received a grievance or no longer and carried out an inquiry with fellow scholars. We have registered a case on charges of abetment to suicide in accordance with the grievance and further inquiry is under method. An assistant commissioner-level officer has been assigned as investigating officer, he added. College principal D Pandiaraja informed NewsTread that the interior ragging committee had no longer received any grievance from the deceased scholars.
