Of 40 loco pilots, 20 are women in Lucknow Metro

LUCKNOW: It was once a proud second for Neetu Gupta, who were given the potential of working a Metro educate for its inaugural run CCS Airport to Munshipulia along side her colleague Sushant.
“I cleared 3 tests ahead of getting selected. Some of my family members thought it will be very challenging, but I informed them that I could do it with my training and it is easy once you get used to it,” Gupta stated.

There are 40 Metro operators for the North-South corridor. Of those, 20 are women.

For the inaugural run, LMRC had performed a take a look at and shortlisted 20 operators. Thereafter, several extra riding tests had been held. LMRC then selected Neetu and Sushant.

Till now, Neetu has operated 45,941km on the precedence phase from Transportnagar to Charbagh Metro station.

She is from the primary batch of workers selected through written exam performed through LMRC.

Sushant, who is from Gujarat, operated the educate back to CCS Airport from Munshipulia. He has the enjoy of riding more than 28,000km on the precedence phase.

“We had been informed 10 days ago that we need to operate the Metro for the launch day. I'm very happy that of 40 operators, I were given this opportunity,” he stated.
