Odisha: Now, BJD’s Nilagiri MLA quits party

BHUBANESWAR: After BJD’s Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi, ruling party MLA from Nilagiri Sukanta Nayak quit the group bringing up “conspiracy” through some leaders towards him.

The one-time legislator had objected to the recent induction of former BJP chief Sushama Biswal into BJD. She had unsuccessfully fought the 2014 assembly election from Nilagiri towards Nayak.

“To add insult to harm, the psychological torture inflicted upon me through the district BJD president (Balasore MP Rabindra Jena) was turning into unbearable with each passing day. This harm me immensely. So I am tendering my resignation from the main membership of the party,” the MLA said in his resignation letter to party president Naveen Patnaik.

After sending his resignation letter, the Nilagiri legislator additionally addressed party workers in his constituency. “Though I tried my level highest to serve the people in my constituency and enhance the party, I used to be disregarded through the leaders in my district. Leaders from different events were included into BJD with out my wisdom,” he said.

Asked about his subsequent move, Nayak said he's going to proceed to serve other people in his constituency however did not reveal whether he's going to sign up for some other party.

“My excellent needs are with the Nilagiri legislator. I've nothing to say,” Jena said. He added that Nayak’s determination to depart the party won't have any have an effect on at the organisation in Nilagiri.
