No heavy vehicles on Chorla Ghat from March 20 to September 30


PANAJI: An building up in automobiles at the Chorla Ghat route because of ongoing street paintings on the Anmod Ghat is clogging up the Chorla-Keri-Morlem-Sakhali street. There has also been an building up within the collection of accidents at the route.

Now, authorities have prohibited the access and plying of heavy industrial automobiles on certain routes from March 20 to September 30.


In an order dated March 15, the North Goa district Justice of the Peace has prohibited the access and plying of heavy industrial automobiles to the following routes: from the Dattawadi, Sakhali junction to the top of the Goa border at the Goa-Belagavi state highway primary on Chorla Ghat and from the Honda junction to the top of the Goa state border on state highway primary on Chorla Ghat.


The Justice of the Peace has also instructed the PWD to erect important signages and course boards indicating information about the vehicular visitors at suitable places.


Earlier, the superintendent of visitors police requested the North Goa district Justice of the Peace to divert vehicular visitors because of ongoing expansion paintings on a piece of the Anmod Ghat. Heavy automobiles had been diverted to ply by the use of the Chorla Ghat route. As a end result, the collection of heavy visitors plying thru Chorla Ghat throughout the day and night greater manifold. This building up has put additional load at the roads, inflicting visitors congestion at the Chorla-Keri-Morlem-Sakhali street and in addition higher collection of accidents.
