Most eve-teasers not serious offenders: Police

HYDERABAD: Shikha Goel, ACP (crimes & SIT) in Hyderabad, said maximum eve-teasers stuck through SHE teams delight in eve-teasing only for fun and aren't serious offenders. She used to be talking at an tournament at Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society (SUES) school campus on Friday.

“However, infrequently mischief can land them in trouble, and completely blot their occupation if a case is booked,” she added.

Since the formation of SHE teams in 2014, a Bharosa Centre, Hawk Eye App, and a community of 2.7 lakh cameras throughout Hyderabad had been put in to make the town a safer place.

“Crime charge in Hyderabad has fallen through 40%, particularly homicide instances, while crimes in opposition to girls have dipped through 25%,” she added.

Zafar Javeed, SUES secretary, stressed out on girls empowerment and said, “Even in earlier period, Rani Laxmibai, Razia Sultana, Hazrath Mahal and Rudramadevi set examples about bravery and empowerment.”
