More leaders to quit Congress in Dharwad district

Dharwad: The resignation of Dr Mahesh Nalwad from is only the start of an exodus from the Congress with many extra from the district likely to hand over the birthday party in the next few days, in step with a senior chief.

Led by way of senior chief Deepak Chinchore, 8-10 former councilors are set to bid good-bye to the Congress. Speaking to STOI from New Delhi, Chinchore admitted that all is not well within the Congress and a batch of ex-corporators is able to hand over the birthday party.

“We were operating for the birthday party because the previous 20-25 years and saved its flag flying facing all odds. However, the birthday party management has no respect for devoted staff and simplest those who pester and pamper the leaders are favoured with positions and tool. All our pro-people struggles all through my tenure as a corporator helped the birthday party win seats within the HDMC elections. But the birthday party leaders overlooked our contributions. I was denied my due share of opportunities within the birthday party a number of instances and was once discriminated towards on caste concerns,” Chinchore alleged.

Sources stated the disgruntled birthday party staff are in contact with former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who is in New Delhi, and are consulting him about their next move.
